INVESTMENT PLAN OF THE BINH THUAN GENERAL DEEP-WATER SEA PORT PROJECT

I. LEGAL DOCUMENTS:

- Document No.6055/VPCP-CN dated 22nd October, 2007 by The Prime Minister regarding approval for supplementing Ke Ga General Sea Port.

- Document No.6588/BGTVT-KHDT dated 15th October, 2007 by Ministry of Planning and Investment on supplementation of development scheme Vietnam sea port system.

- Document No.4275/BGTVT-KHDT dated 04th June, 2008 by Ministry of Traffic and Transport on Solving the suggestion of Binh Thuan.

- Document No.675/UBND-DTQH dated 18th February, 2008 by Binh Thuan People’s Committee regarding organizing, deloying and investing to construct Ke Ga deep water port as BOO formation.

 

II. PLACE OF CONSTRUCTION:

- Ke Ga Cape belongs to the Tan Thanh and Thuan Quy commune, Ham Thuan Nam District, Binh Thuan Province. The distance away from Phan Thiet City is about 8 Km.

 

III. GEOGRAPHIC ADVANTAGES:

- The site is about 1 Km from the land-side with natural level of 17 m, suitable for the construction of seaport to receive vessels up to 50,000 DWT - 80,000 DWT.


• Traffic to Port :
- Road no. 712 joins highway 1 A Ke Ga Cape and road no. 705 joins Highway 55 to Vung Tau.
- It is distant about 40 Km from Phan Thiet, Ham Kiem I and Ham Kiem II - Bitas Industrial Park toward the North; about 30 Km from Tam Thien, Ham Tan, Son My Industrial Park towards the South.


• Topographic & Bathymetric conditions :
- Reference of UTM map at scale of 1/50.000; and sea-chart at scale of 1/100.000 show that location of the port is adjoining Ke Ga cape; the port rear consists of sand dunes surrounding the sea with rather high level, the one which is distant about 1,000m from the water edge has the highest level of 105m. The water area has rather high level, the beth border line is proposed to move out the area where natural level is -17m (Chart Datum).
Therefore, the water area in front of the port and the fairway with natural level between -15 and -17m shall not be dredged, in which the fairway to the port shall be a sea shipping channel with deep level and short length.

 

IV. CONSTRUCTION DATAS OF BINH THUAN GENERAL DEEP-WATER SEAPORT PROJECT:
