Projects involved under Peter Ching, Architect including: 

  1. To prepare a proposed up-market 2 storey residential house design for the client at Karrinyup site, and to obtain planning approval.  

  2. To prepare a proposed duplex residential houses design for the client at the North Beach on a surveyed strata-title site. 

  3. To assist the owner of a property at Byford to resolve the ongoing soil monitoring process under Shell Australia, to co-ordinate with the interested party of McDonald’s Australia Pty Ltd on the proposal of developing a McDonald family restaurant on the site.  

  4. To help the client of Spanish Flavour to work out a feasibility study on potential shop at Oxford Street as new premises to move in, to prepare proposed preliminary sketch drawings for the new shop and involved in preparing leasing terms of conditions for the leasing contract.

  5. To prepare the design of display showcases, and to be involved in the refurbishment of the rear office and exhibition room and storage area for Murano Venezia Shop in Hay Street of Perth.

  6. To help the client, Cambridge Forum for the conversion of an existing shop into new seminar room and to become part of the conference centre.

  7. Involving in a project for the complete refurbishment of an existing residential house of heritage value in Monash Avenue, Nedlands.

  8. To help the client of Cambridge Forum to prepare a proposal to convert an existing shop into coffee shop and to obtain planning approval for potential tenants.

In the capacity as architectural consultant, Peter Ching, Architect 

has joined together with the architectural firm Ark Design in Jakarta of Indonesia to be involved in the design and documentation of 2 major shopping centres in Medan and Jakarta respectively. 

  1. The Gandaria City shopping centre in Jakarta consists of 600,000 sqm of shopping area. The whole complex consists of multi-levels underground car parking, shopping podium, multi-levels shopping arcades, six numbers of 32 storey condominiums, a 20-storey hotel tower of 4 stars quality, and a modern 30 levels office tower with flexible office partitioning design in most of the office levels. 

  2. Whereas the Sun Plaza shopping centre in Medan consists of 300,000 sqm of shopping area. The complex consists of multi-levels over ground car parking facilities, with six levels of shopping arcades and a ground level shopping podium. The shopping centre caters for various facilities and activities such as ice-skating ring, bowling alleys, cinemas, food court and children play area, it is the first building in Indonesia where the façade has used titanium sheet material for cladding and for the design of the main shopping entrance canopy. 

  3. In co-operating with Ark Design, Peter Ching, Architect had also participated in preparing a feasibility study and master plan of a resort development in Hainan Duo at the southern part of China. The proposed development consists of all the required infra-structure of access and transportation to the island, the various essential services, administration quarter, main hotel complex, holiday apartments, holiday bungalows and townhouses, private garden and beach front, and general public recreation area.

Peter Ching, Architect worked together with HKL Pacific Pty Ltd to prepare a proposed holiday resort development in Loc An, Vietnam. 

  1. The master plan of this resort development consists of holiday service apartment units, hotel main complex with restaurants and conference rooms, modern gymnasium and sauna baths, library and administration quarter, staff accommodation, private residential housing area, beach front bar facilities, and a small yacht club amenity. 


2000 - 2007

Projects under Peter Ching, Architect in Perth, Western Australia Including the following:

  1. Design of a modern office unit for an Australian travelling company, the work has included office planning, interior design, selection of furniture, and the supervision for the completion of the complete office fit out. 

  2. Preparing planning materials and consulting with planning department to obtain approval of 24 hours service for a Petrol Service Station in a Perth suburb from the Shire Council of Kalamunda. 

  3. To work closely with the CEO of Cambridge Forum in Perth to prepare ’Change of Use’ planning changes for various tenants in the forum complex for submission to the Cambridge Council for approval. It involves continuous meetings with planners to work out all the necessary requirements under the local planning by-laws, including the sensitive issue of car parking numbers and spaces. 

  4. To convert and add a new design of dispensary in a Pharmacy shop within a busy hospital complex in Perth. The work includes planning, dispensary and pharmacy shop layout, fit-out design, and co-ordinating of all the services, especially the careful control of air conditioning and air extraction. 

  5. Upgrading of an existing supermarket in a Perth suburb with design to improve the shopping aisles and to make it to become a more modern and attractive shopping area, with an addition of 2nd level of office space for administration purpose, and an extension of the rear storage space to increase the storage capacity for goods.
